How to Hack Construction Signs

The other day we posted this picture of a road sign which read “You’ll Never Get to Work on Time! HA! HA!” I thought it was a funny picture, but

also wonder if it was real… or photoshopped?

Well, it looks like it could be the real thing as a tutorial on how to change the text on a construction sign is on the loose.

Quick start instructions:

“It will ask you for a password. Try “DOTS”, the default password.

In all likelihood, the crew will not have changed it. However if they did, never fear. Hold “Control” and “Shift” and while holding, enter “DIPY”. This will reset the sign and reset the password to “DOTS” in the process. You’re in”
:) WARNING YOU SHOULD NEVER TAMPER WITH THESE SIGNS :)

Economic Indicator 3520 Resumes in Under 24 Hours

We’ve all heard how bad the economy is, but this story should paint a clearer picture.

The picture to the left came from a reader and property manager in Virginia who posted an opening for a part time receptionist.

Perhaps this can become a new metric to gauge how bad the employment situation is, how many resumes a 12-hour receptionist-job posting on Craigslist receives in a 24-hour period.

Animated GIF Twitter Avatar

Animated GIF Twitter AvatarI’ve had success with making an animated gif show up as an avatar on Twitter in the past… but not 100% sure if it works any more. In the past, the secret seemed to be to make the image about 200 x 200 pixels. Probably also helps to keep the file size as low as possible.

I think Twitter may have disabled animated gifs by now, but… people that got theirs in around Christmas still seem active. If you’ve got some time to kill, you might give it a try. Here’s a tutorial by @TiffanyDow.
