There was quite a bit of buzz LATE (for me) last night on Twitter.  I finally went to sleep sometime after 3 a.m., but it appears the Qantas airline fire wasn’t that big of a deal.  Found this story in my in box today:

“Melbourne plane probed after report of wing fire” - basically a witness reported seeing fire coming from its left wing at Melbourne Airport.  All passengers dismounted safely and the plane is being checked for damage.

@mumbrella wrote up a detailed account of this event as it unfolded on Twitter.  It’s pretty easy to see how a story can get blown out of proportion quickly!  I suspect there will be plenty of fake news leads in 2009.  Gonna be a fun year….

Just got noticed some tweets about a possible fire on Qantas Airlines… Boeing 767?  Details sketchy… stay tuned.
