Has Twitter Crapped Out?

I’ve noticed in the last few days that my follower count has dramatically slowed down on Twitter.  I saw a tweet from Leo Laporte where he seemed to confirm that Twitter’s infastrucure was trembling.  I swung over to Twitter Counter and checked out some other popular users and all appear to have flatlined.  Has anyone else noticed this?

Hilarious eBay Spam

ebay

Every day SEOmoz receives dozens of spams on a variety of products and services on their user generated blog.  One spam was so funny they decided to bring it to life with stick figure cartoons.

Below is that spam entry, in illustrated form. All of the copy at the top of each panel is actual verbatim copy from the blog submission (I only provided the drawings). I hope this entry brings you as much joy as it brought me. Enjoy.

First Tweets on Twitter?

Decided to take a look back at the first posts I could find of Twitter founders @ev and @biz and see what they were tweeting. Took a couple screenshots
and here’s what I got:

But… perhaps there are even earlier tweets before this?  Anyone know? :)

Emoji Emoticons on iPhone

Here’s a cool way to get Japanese Emoji emoticons to show up on your iPhone for free without jailbraking.

Japanese site iPodTouchLab found out that if you import a specially formatted vcard.vcf address book file with the proper Emojis already inside, you’ll be able to type out Emojis a chunk at a time, and delete the ones you don’t want. It’s a gimpy way of doing it, but it’s free.

Idea for @chrispirillo - Use #chrispirillo instead of Flash chat

pirillo-chat

Chris Pirillo fans, what do you think about this idea: Not sure if @chrispirillo has tried this or not, but thought it might be interesting to use the hash tag/number sign/chat room thing so people on Twitter could tweet while watching the live show. I suppose you could come up with a new hashtag for each new topic.  For instance, right now his topic is “Lost”.  Maybe it could be something like #pirillo-lost ?  Or, keep it simple with #chrispirillo.

I like his flash based chat, but it does seem to bog the system down sometimes and maybe it would be good to have an alternative for those that might prefer to chat on Twitter?  What do you think?  Good idea?  Bad idea?  Stupid idea?  Hmm…
